This week kicked off with the arrival of our parents. ±«Óãtv provided many great activities for Family Weekend this year. Throughout the weekend, families could be found attending lectures, viewing shows at the Ho vis lab, laughing at a comedy show featuring Jim Belushi, and cheering on the Raiders at the athletic events.

Sasha Reed ’97, a research ecologist with the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS), has received the Presidential Early Career Award for Scientists and Engineers.

The third annual fall academic awards ceremony was held Friday, Oct. 28, as part of Family Weekend activities.

±«Óãtv opened its classrooms and put campus life on display for hundreds of parents during Family Weekend 2011, held Oct. 28-30.  

±«Óãtv professor Anthony Aveni has been selected as a judge for the YouTube Space Lab, a global science competition and ongoing education program.

Eboo Patel, founder of the Interfaith Youth Core, packed Memorial Chapel with people eager to hear his inspiring message: that young people are the key to building religious cooperation and interfaith leadership.

This week brought … snow! (Among other things, of course) On Thursday, the campus saw its first snow of the season, a welcome sight for some, an unfortunate occurrence for others, and, for a few, a totally new experience.
