Each summer, Field School Fellows conduct research in partnership with community and nonprofit organizations in the Upstate New York region. In the summer of 2020, this research took place virtually but over twenty students were still able to complete valuable community-based projects.

On October 25, 2019, the Upstate Institute hosted a gathering of community leaders and entrepreneurs to focus on rural economic development in the southern part of Madison County and the northern part of Chenango County.

The Upstate Institute partnered with Hamilton College to bring author Kenneth E. Hartman to ����tv on Tuesday, November 5, 2019.

Elaina Alzaibak ’20 interned over the summer at Cornell Cooperative Extension of Madison County (CCE) through the ����tv Upstate Institute Summer Field School.
