The SXSW film festival opens today and ����tv will be there with a couple of movie premieres by alumni.

Jay Chandrasekhar ’90 will show The Babymakers , starring ’90, Olivia Munn, and Paul Schneider. The world premiere of this film is tonight at 10 in the .

Here is a synopsis of the film:

“After trying everything to get his wife Audrey (Olivia Munn) pregnant, Tommy Macklin (Paul Schneider) realizes to his horror that he may be “shooting blanks.” Terrified that his marriage may fall apart, Tommy recruits his friends (and an Indian ex-mobster) to rob a sperm bank where he made a deposit years ago. As with any half-baked scheme, everything can and does go wrong, testing the limits of Tommy and Audrey’s relationship.”

, this movie is slated to hit theaters in 2013. But everyone at the South by Southwest festival will be able to catch it tonight.

Also at SXSW is Rod Blackhurst’s ’02 short, , starring Dave Franco. It will premiere . Here is the synopsis:

“Two friends play ‘Would You Rather.’ When their choices magically start to come true, they find themselves in a variety of awkward and funny situations.”

Getting invited to SXSW is a testament of the quality of these films by alumni, who join many others as they after graduation.
